UDHAMPUR, Oct 29: A labourer staying alone in an unoccupied building, was burnt alive in accidental fire in the complex.
The deceased was identified as Des Raj, resident of Samna Banj Ramnagar, who was working as a labourer and had been staying alone in the said building, owned by one Anil Kumar.
Reports said that the building caught fire last night because of unknown reasons. Before the locals could reach the spot and rescue the labourer staying there, the later had sustained serious burn injuries. He was rushed to the District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead.
According to Anil Kumar, owner of the building, the deceased had approached him around three months back seeking permission to stay in the unoccupied building.
Meanwhile, Udhampur Police has registered a case in this connection under Section 174 CrPC for further investigation.
