MENDHAR, Jan 13: A labourer drowned in a nallah while fishing out his mobile phone which fell into Mankote nallah in the town here today.
The incident took place when he was engaged in work with a contractor. While working at the site, his mobile phone which was kept in the pocket fell down into nearby nallah. He dived into the nallah to fish out his mobile phone but could not come out. He said to have trapped in the marshy nallah. His body was later fished out by the other workers. The deceased has been identified as Ghulam Mohd, son of Attah Mohd of Loran. His brother Mohd Shabir working as mate with the contractor then removed his body to home village.
