JAMMU, Apr 27: A labourer was killed today in Akhnoor area when a part of the ceiling of a building fell on him.
According to police sources, the mishap occurred when demolition work of old building of the Court complex Akhnoor was going on. A part of the roof of the building fell on the labourer engaged in work on the site, resulting into his on the spot death.
“The deceased was identified as Purshotam Kumar (40) son of Badri Nath, resident of Rajwal (Kaleeth, Akhnoor), ” sources said while adding that the body of the deceased was sent for postmortem and inquest proceedings in this connection was initiated at Police Station Akhnoor.
