LEH, Feb 20: Ladakh Administration today ordered to withhold the salary of Chief Engineer, PHE/I&FC for his alleged absence from the duty.
A charge sheet with a statement of imputation has also been forwarded to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for initiating a disciplinary proceeding against Sumeet Kumar Puri, Chief Engineer of PHE/I&FC Ladakh for his “misconduct”.
“The proviso of FR-17 states that an officer who is absent from duty without any authority is not entitled to any pay and allowance during the period of such absence,” an order issued by UT Administration of Ladakh said.
“Therefore, it is ordered that the salary of Sumeet Kumar Puri shall be withheld until the Government of J&K takes a decision on his un-authorized absence from duties and leaving the Head Quarter,” read the order.
