NEW DELHI, Mar 3:  A top level BJP team from Union Territory of Ladakh comprises of former Chairman, J&K Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali and Ashraf Ali, president, All Kargil Tour & Travel Association led by Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha from Ladakh call on Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs of Union Government of India in his Parliament office in New Delhi and strongly demanded for early evacuation of Ziarat pilgrims belongings to Kargil and Leh districts of Ladakh.
The Ladakh delegation appraised the Minister that approximately 1200 Indian citizens belonging from Kargil and Leh district of Ladakh were all on pilgrimage to Ziarat, Iran and were stranded in Iran due to suspension of all flight operation as precautionary measures for avoiding corona virus and all of them are in Iran and their family members here in India are in panic.
The meeting discussed about the necessary required procedures like screenings of all the passengers in Iran before lifting them up and arrangements for fourteen days quarantine in India after rescreening in Delhi to avoid unwanted health situation before delivering them to home in Kargil and Leh respectively.
After giving a patient hearing and detail discussion about the ongoing situations, the Minister assured the Ladakh delegation for earliest possible evacuation of the stranded pilgrims from Iran to India very safely with all the necessary arrangements and advised the representatives for not to be panic.
On behalf of the people of Ladakh constituency as well as the administration of UT Ladakh Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal reassured full cooperation to the Govt of India for screening, quarantine and other necessary procedures. The delegation thanked the minister for personally monitoring the situation and reposed their faith in the Modi Govt for all necessary procedures to evacuate all the stranded pilgrims on time.
