The creation of Ladakh division is quite essential to promote the interests of people living in this part of the country. Being appended to Kashmir, Ladakh people face many administrative problems on account of unique topographical and geographical features of the region. It is not possible for people of this region to rush Srinagar to get their grievances redressed every time. It not only involves lot of money but wastage of time too. If the creation of new administrative units in the State was a necessity, so the creation of Ladakh division.
People have raised this problem a number of times, but nothing tangile has come out so far. Now when the Upper House of the State Legislature has passed a resolution for creation of a separate division, the Lower House shall have no objection to it. The creation of a separate division will be a step towards empowerment of Ladakh region.
