KARGIL, July 25: BJP national general secretary and in charge J&K and Ladakh Union Territories (UTs), Tarun Chug who reached here, today on the tour of UT said that his party’s mission is to strengthen BJP at grass root level in the region.
Chug, while talking to Excelsior said that Ladakh is a very potential region for his party and he wanted to fully concentrate in strengthening the party base in twin districts of Leh and Kargil.
On his visit to Ladakh region Chug reached Leh early today and during the day he held meetings with senior party leaders of Leh and discussed the prevailing political situation in the region especially after the formation of Ladakh as UT.
Chug said BJP is committed to overall development of Himalayan region to bring it at par with other developed regions of the country. “BJP is committed to work for the development of this region and welfare of its people”, he added.
He said various issues pertaining to development of the region and strengthening of the party were discussed with the leaders in Leh. He said in his address he asked the party men to visit the every nook and corner of the region by taking welfare schemes and projects of Modi Government to people and apprising them of their benefits.
Chug said Modi Government has launched many schemes for the welfare of women, down trodden and backward regions and I asked the party men to take these all schemes to public and ensure the people take their full advantage. The people should also get the benefit of free ration being distributed by the Government during COVID period and party men have to ensure that no deserving person is deprived of the same.
Later he reached the Kargil in the evening where he will participate in party programme in connection with Vijay Diwas tomorrow. Chug said that the Modi Government has initiated the programme for overall development of the region which has been ignored by successive Governments since 1947. There will be a sea change in the region in future in all sectors including education, health, roads, irrigation, Public Health, Power especially promotion of tourism with special attention to eco tourism in the region which has a lot of potential for the same.
