JAMMU, Apr 26: Under the banner of All Ladakh Students Joint Action Committee, a strong protest demonstration was held against the new recruitment policy of the State, here today at Jammu University campus.
The protesting students, who belonged to ALSAJ, AKSAJ, AZSAJ and SAOLI, raised slogans against the State Government and demanded immediate withdrawal of the new recruitment policy.
They alleged that the new recruitment policy was against the interest of unemployed youth of State. It would also be a set back for the reserved categories, such as SC, ST, OBC, RBA etc because in contractual recruitment, only merit of the candidate will be taken into account, they added.
The ALSJAC also lodged its protest against transfer of 114 lecturers of Jammu and Kashmir divisions to Ladakh against the vacant posts. The mass transfer to Ladakh just before announcement of the new recruitment policy is very harmful for Ladakhi youth, who have necessary qualification for being appointed as Lecturer on contractual basis, they said.
The protesting students threatened to intensify their struggle if the Government does not consider their demand for a review of the new recruitment policy.
