LEH, Oct 27: The administration of Ladakh has decided to expand boundaries of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the Union Territory.
It has set-up two committees for submitting proposals for extending boundaries of Municipal Bodies of Leh and Kargil, the only two ULBs in Ladakh.
The committees would be headed by the concerned Deputy Commissioner.
The committee for Leh comprises Executive Officer, municipal committee Leh and Kargil, President Municipal Committee Leh, LAHDC members (Upper and Lower Leh Councilor or any other member nominated by LAHDCs member(s)), Tsewang Dorje, representative from Housing & Urban Development Department and representative from Rural Development Department.
The Panel for Kargil comprises Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Kargil, President Municipal Committee Kargil, LAHDC Council members (Town Councilor, Kargil or any other member nominated by LAHDC), Zakir Hussain, representative from Housing & Urban Development Department and representative from Rural Development Department.
