Ladakhi students meet Akhoon, highlight demands

JAMMU, Nov 11: A delegation of Ladakhi students led by all the presidents of student unions of Ladakh in Jammu met Qamar Ali Akhoon, Minister for Consumer Affair and Public Distribution and apprised him about the problems being faced by them.
The student leaders highlighted some serious issues regarding non-availability of cooking gas, rising prices of the rental room.
Minister gave a patient hearing to their demands and assured them that the problems of non-availability of LPG cylinder on subsidised rate for the students will be consider seriously and instructed Deputy Director, Department of CA&PD to look into the matter for its early disposal. He also assured that the price of the rental room will be also be sorted out at the earliest.
The delegation comprised of Tsewang Norbu, president, ALSAJ, Syed Mukthar Shah, president, SAOLJ, Asgar Ali Yarkain, president, AKSAJ, Jamphel Sheyan, president, AZSU, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, ex-president, ALSAJ, etc.
