JAMMU, Apr 16: All Ladakh Student Association Jammu (ALSAJ) has appealed the Government for timely release of scholarship for Ladakhi students.
In a handout, issued by ALSAJ after consultation with All Kargil Student Association Jammu (AKSAJ), Students Association of Ladakh Jammu (SAOLJ) and All Zanskar Students Union (AZSU), the concerned authorities were urged to take up the scholarship issue seriously so that students may not suffer.
According to ALSAJ president Nawang Tundup, more than 100 students from Ladakh, studying in Jammu, have not yet received their scholarship for the year 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13. The students have been regularly visiting the tribal office at Trikuta Nagar for the same but the concerned authorities either give no response or make baseless reasons, he added.
