JAMMU, June 4: Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested two persons including a lady along with large quantity of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka and intercepted a Jammu bound Tavera bearing registration number JK16-2179.
During checking, police team recovered 42.160 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of two persons travelling in the vehicle and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Yora Singh, son of Darshan Singh of Dholan District Ludhiana Punjab and Kulwinder Kour, wife of Pipal Singh, a resident of Tehsil Fatehghar Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 131/2022 under section 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation initiated to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
