SAMBA, Dec 16: One lady police constable was killed while three people were injured in two separate accidents at Jammu Pathankote road in Samba district today.
According to police a lady constable identified as Surishta of Bishnah was seriously injured after her scooty was hit by a Tata Mobile van at Raya More today.
She was posted at IR 17 Samba and was on her way to Bishnah when the Tata Mobile hit her scooty at Raya More.
She was referred to GMC Jammu for treatment where the doctors pronounced her as brought dead.
The driver of the Tata Mobile identified as Kaku of Bari Brahmana was arrested by Vijaypur Police and a case under relevant sections of law was registered against him, the police said.
The dead body will be handed over to family members tomorrow after postmortem.
In another accident three people were injured after a Xylo in which they were traveling was hit by a Trala at Samba Bus Stand today.
Out of the three injured persons, the condition of two was stated to be serious and they were referred to GMC Jammu for treatment, police said.
