Lady doc transferred to Gurez after found absent from duty

SRINAGAR, July 2: The Health Minister, Sham Lal, has directed shifting of a lady doctor from Bandipora District Hospital to Gurez for remaining absent from the district hospital.
Dr. Pervaiza, Assistant Surgeon, posted at District Hospital was found absent from duty yesterday while patients had to be shifted from the hospital to Srinagar for treatment.
The Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr B A Malik, told Excelsior that the doctor was on night duty but she didn’t report to the hospital. He said that despite repeated calls by the Block Medical Officer (BMO) to her cell number, she did not respond and later switched off the mobile.
A lady patient from Gurez had reported to the hospital at around 4 p.m. but she was not attended due to absence of the doctor from the duty. The lady doctor was shifted to Srinagar late in the evening to Srinagar where her attendants protests against the lack of facilities at Bandipora hospital.
The CMO also made a surprise visit to the hospital today and found two employees unauthorisedly absent from duty. He has asked them to explain the cause for their absence.
