Srinagar, Mar 26: Police in Srinagar today arrested a lady drug peddler and recovered a substantial quantity of contraband substance from her possession.
Authorities said that a police party from police station Shaltang at a checkpoint established at Panzinara, noticed a lady attempting to flee the scene.
“The alert police party promptly apprehended her,” police said.
During the search, police said, 1 kg 940 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from her possession.
“The arrested lady peddler has been identified as Jabeena Bano, wife of Bashir Ahmed Malik resident of Panzinara, Srinagar.”
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 27/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been initiated.
