KATHUA, Jan 4: In a tragic train accident a middle aged woman was killed and another was seriously injured when they were trapped in Malwa Express train at Barwal Morh on Jammu-Pathankot track in Kathua district this evening.
As per Railway Police report two women were moving on the railway track towards Barwal Morh. Suddenly a train came via another track and Malwa Express was also moving in opposite direction on the parallel track. Both the women were trapped in such a way and hit by Malwa Express that resulted in the on spot death of one woman and serious injuries to another. Both belong to village Babli, Parmandal and were on way to their residences after attending mourning at their relatives’ house.
The deceased woman was identified as Kailesho Devi 65, W/o Harbans Singh resident of Babli, Parmandal. The injured was identified as Kanta Devi, 75 W/o Balwant Raj resident of Parmandal. She was referred to GMC Jammu in serious condition. The Railway Police has shifted the body to district Hospital Kathua for post mortem. The police has started investigation into the matter.
