JAMMU, Dec 28: Narwal, Chatroo and Akhnoor Police arrested three persons including a woman and a temple priest along with contraband.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Post Narwal led by SI Achal Rana under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Nayat Ali and SDPO East Sajad Sarwar laid a naka at Rajeev Nagar and intercepted a lady, who was moving under suspicious circumstance.
During checking, police team recovered 17 grams heroin from the possession of the lady and arrested her.
The arrested lady was identified as Laxmi, wife of Naresh, a resident of Rajeev Nagar District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number under Section has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
Meanwhile, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Chatroo led by Inspector Parvaiz Khanday under the supervision of DySP DAR Kishtwar Zia-Ul-Haq established a naka at Bondha Nallah and apprehended a notorious drug peddler along with 95 grams of cannabis.
The accused has been identified as Pyare Lal, son of Ram Nath of Parna Chatroo District Kishtwar.
A case under FIR Number 75/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation set into motion.
In another incident, during patrolling a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar intercepted a man and during checking recovered ganja from his possession.
Police team arrested the man, who was identified as Vishram Dass, son of Laxman Dass, resident of Jia Pota Ghat Akhnoor District Jammu. He was a priest at a temple near Jia Pota Ghat Akhnoor and was arrested earlier also with contraband.
A case under FIR Number 322/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation initiated.
