Lahan destroyed, hooch seized

UDHAMPUR, June 14: In its drive against illicit liquor, Ramnagar Police today seized five liters of hooch and destroyed 45 liters of Lahan at village Balotta, Uparala under the jurisdiction of Police station Basantgarh.
Acting on specific information regarding the manufacturing of illicit liquor, police team headed by SHO Basantgarh, Inspector Pushpinder Singh, under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar, Dr Bhishm Dubey conducted raids in the house of Ved Parkash son of Sabhunath of Balota and in the house of Ruma Devi wife of Jagdish Kumar of Balota Upparala.
During the raids, Police recovered five litres of hooch and around 45 liters Lahan from both the locations. The recovered hooch was seized while the Lahan was destroyed on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR number 17/2021, under section 48(e) Excise Act has been registered at PS Basantgarh.
