JAMMU, Dec 29: A delegation of executive councilors and councilors headed by Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Leh, Dr. Sonam Dawa met with the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh and the Minister for Public Health Engineering and Irrigation & Flood Control Sukhnandan Kumar and submitted memorandums regarding different developmental issues of Ladakh to them.
During the meeting with the Deputy Chief Minister, CEC Dr. Dawa sought his immediate intervene in releasing the balance funds for ongoing UIDSSMT scheme with Rs 146.12 crore under Central Share and Rs. 16.73 crores under State Share.
Similarly, the memorandum requested for his personal intervention in the matters like allotment of funds for macadamization of roads in city and town; Power Sector issues like – transmission and distribution for off-grid Solar Power Plants in Leh District; Transmission and Distribution for Micro/Mini Hydro Projects under development in Nubra and Durbuk blocks of Leh district; Geo Thermal Capacity Development; Replacement of wooden poles; regularization of casual laborers; issue of Transmission Line to Gia-Meru and revalidation of the balance Rs. 126.00 lac under Rajiv Awas Yojana.
In another memorandum submitted to DyCM, CEC appraised him about the difficulties being faced by various departments due to shortage of manpower in key posts.
Talking about the short working season of six months in Leh district, memorandum further said that all the developmental works be completed in this short span of six months and the vacancies of various departments are acting as a major impediment in the delivery of effective service to the public.
The memorandum submitted to Sukhnandan Kumar demanded release of balanced requirement of funds of Rs. 156.90 crore as Central Share and Rs. 20.83 Crore as State share for flood management.
