Lakhanpur Police rescues 10 bovine animals

KATHUA, Sept 9: Lakhanpur Police has rescued 10 bovine animals during a naka at Golden Gate Lakhanpur today.
A police party of Police Station Lakhanpur, headed by SHO Lakhanpur, Inspector Kulbir Singh on a specific information laid down the Naka at Golden Gate Lakhanpur today and intercepted one Tipper bearing Registration No. PB06B-4303, that was loaded with bovine animals. The tipper was on way from Punjab towards Jammu. After observing the Police party, driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot taking the advantage of darkness leaving behind the vehicle at some distance from naka. During search of the vehicle, 10 bovine were rescued and in this regard a case FIR No. 87/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PC Act stands registered at P/S Lakhanpur and investigation into the matter is in progress to nab the nexus of bovine smuggling.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of Parul Bhardwaj, DySP DAR Kathua and overall supervision of Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, SSP Kathua.
