Lakhanpur police rescues 9 bovines

KATHUA, Feb 14: In its endeavour and commitment to contain the activities of bovine smuggling in Kathua district, a police team of Police Station Lakhanpur foiled bovine smuggling attempt in its jurisdictional area and rescued nine bovine animals. Accused was arrested and the vehicle carrying bovines illegally was seized on the spot.
Police said a team of PS Lakhanpur led by Inspector, Arvind Sambyal SHO Lakhanpur under the supervison of Additional SP, Ramnish Gupta while performing vehicle checking duty noticed a suspicious truck bearing Registration Number, UP23T-2724 which was being driven by the driver namely Mohd. Saleem, S/o Mohd. Ahmed R/o Ngina Bijnore Uttar Pradesh. On thorough checking of the vehicle, nine bovines were found loaded in it illegally. Meanwhile, vehicle was seized and accused arrested.
A case FIR No. 26/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11/PCA Act has been registered in concerned Police Station and investigation set into motion accordingly.
