KATHUA, Jan 23: Ch Lal Singh today organized a tractor rally in support of the farmers and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Narender Modi through DC Kathua.
Ch Lal Singh also addressed the gathering and appealed to the PM that farmer Bills have led to massive countrywide agitation raising apprehension about their workability and modus operandi which further has generated an atmosphere of total chaos, uncertainty and insecurity all across the country, particularly in this most vulnerable community. They steered the country out of starvation and made it self-reliant by their hard work and by giving blood and sweat made it possible that today no Indian sleep empty stomach.
While addressing he said that present agitation of the farmers have massive public support in the country and our party DSSP (Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan Party) has always stood by the farmers. He said that a memorandum will be placed on record in support of the agitating farmers and assured his full participation in every democratic action of the farmers. He also appealed that improvements and changes are required for agricultural marketing systems for the benefits of millions of small farmers, but the reforms brought by these Acts don’t serve the purpose. They are based on wrong assumptions and claims about why farmers are unable to get remunerative prices, about farmers not having freedom to sell wherever they like under the previously existing laws and about regulated markets not in the interest of the farmers.
He also appealed to the PM to personally intervene in the matter which is highly needed to end the stalemate once and for all and restore the faith of the most vulnerable community of farmers, which has always stood by the country in every tough time. After addressing the rally Ch Lal Singh along with party activists submitted the memorandum to the DC Kathua. A large number of sarpanches and panches participated in the rally.
