Lal Singh back as Minister in Mufti Government in JK

JAMMU:
Lal Singh, a fire-brand voice of Jammu region, today returned into the council of Ministers of Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed, but this time in PDP-BJP Government and took oath in Dogri language.
Attired in Dogri Pagri and Kurta Paijma, Singh took oath as Cabinet Minister for the second time in Mufti Government today.
“I am very happy to be back as Minister to serve the people of the State in honest and dedicated manner,” Singh said.
In Basholi constituency of Kathua district, Singh, who left Congress and contested the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly poll on BJP ticket, has defeated former Congress Minister Manohar Lal Sharma by nearly 18,000 votes.
Singh was elected as MP from Udhampur Lok Sabha seat in 2009 and 2004 on Congress ticket. He was elected to Jammu and Kashmir Assembly as MLA in 1996 and 2002 polls and was minister for health and medical education in the Sayeed-led coalition Government.
Singh, born 2 February 1959, was a member of the 14th and 15th Lok Sabha. He represented the Udhampur constituency of Jammu and Kashmir. (AGENCIES)
