KATHUA, Apr 13 : In order to take stock of problems and demands of the people, Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Ch Lal Singh today convened a public grievance redressal camp at Basohli.
SDM Basohli, Dhirender Sharma, SDPO Basohli, J S Slathia, DFO Kathua, BMO Basholi and other tehsil level officers were present on the occasion.
People from various villages put forth their demands and grievances before the Minister which were mainly related to provision of drinking water, road connectivity, replacement of old water supply pipes and electric poles for strengthening the existing infra of PHE & PDD. The villagers also put forth their problem related to widow pension and old age pension.
Ch Lal Singh gave a patient hearing to the problems and demands projected by the people and called upon the people to remain united and play their decisive part in nation building.
He said with the active support of people the institutions of governance at ground level are being strengthened. He further said that every resident has vital duty to take up the concerns of the society at appropriate forums. He exhorted upon the people to come forward to reap the benefits of schemes especially designed to meet the aspirations of the people. He appealed the educated unemployed youth to avail the benefits of various schemes initiated by both Central and State Governments to establish income and employment generating units.
Earlier, Ch Lal Singh visited the residence of Raj Kumar to condole the untimely and sudden demise of his son namely Karan Kumar, a student of class 8th.
Panchs, Sarpanchs and large number of people were present during the public grievances camp.
