Lal Singh dedicates digital radiography facility to people at GMC

JAMMU, July 10: As a part of continued efforts of the Government to provide better health care facilities to common people, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Choudhary Lal Singh dedicated Rs. 2 crore digital radiography facility to the people at Government Medical College here today.
Principal Government Medical College Dr. Ghanshyam Dev Gupta, Medical Superintendent GMC, SMGS Hospital and Super Specialty Hospital accompanied the Minister.
After dedicating the digital Radiography facility to the people, Ch. Lal Singh said that the facility would provide free digital X-ray to the patients in the hospital. He said Government is making all out efforts to provide improved and advanced health care facilities to the people.
The Minister directed the medicos and para medicos to provide best possible medical facilities to the people in the hospitals.
Earlier, the Minister visited SMGS Hospital and inspected the medicare facilities being provided in NICU and other units of the hospital.
During his visit to SMGS hospital, the Minister directed the Principal Medical College to install steel chairs for attendants in the waiting hall near the Paediatric ward of the hospital. He also directed for ensuring complete sanitation in and around the hospital. He directed the hospital administration for ensuring proper sanitation of toilet blocks.
The Minister said that the Government is committed to bring more reforms to further improve the medicare delivery system across the state and exhorted upon the functionaries to put in their sincere efforts for achieving the set objectives.
Meanwhile, the Minister paid a surprise visit to Community Health Centre R.S. Pura and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients.
Later, the Minister also inaugurated two day ‘Alvida’ diabetic camp organized by Brahma Kumari Ashram in the auditorium of Government Medical College. On the occasion, hundreds of diabetic patients were educated about the treatment and necessary precautions to be taken for curing this disease.
