JAMMU, Nov 24: While strongly projecting the demand of at least six Assembly seats reserved for displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and rotational Chief Minister for Kashmir and Jammu regions, former Member Parliament and president Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan (DSS) Ch Lal Singh today lashed out at top Congress leader and first Prime Minister of India, Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru and towering National Conference leader Sheikh Mohd Abdullah for hatching a deep rooted conspiracy to weaken Jammu region.
Addressing a press conference here today, the BJP leader Ch Lal Singh trained guns at NC leader Late Sheikh Abdullah and alleged that he in connivance of Pt Nehru ordered ceasefire when Indian forces were advancing and capturing areas annexed by Pak forces. He said most of the areas were dominated by Paharis and Dogras including Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus. But NC leadership for keeping Kashmiri dominance in the State hatched a conspiracy. The PoJK residents were forced to flee leaving behind their properties, thousands were killed. The Jammu region which has area even almost double than Kashmir has just 37 seats and Kashmir region 46. No criteria was adopted to create Assembly constituencies. They made mockery of the system and did great injustice to Jammu and Ladakh people.

Ch Lal Singh strongly demanded that out of the reserved seats of PoJK areas, at least six seats be given to the DPs from these areas living in Jammu region and at least two seats to the Kashmiri Pandits migrated from Kashmir Valley. He strongly demanded proper delimitation of the Assembly constituencies by adopting a fixed yard-sticks in all the three regions of the State. He strongly demanded that there must of rotational Chief Minister for Kashmir and Jammu region for equal term of three years.
Referring to the double compensation given to the Kashmir fruit growers/ farmers recently and exemption grated by State Govt in Toll Tax at Lakhanpur to over 70,000 trucks carrying apples to outside the State, Lal Singh said Government has turned totally bias towards Jammu farmers. The Paddy/ Basmati crop of farmers from RS Pura, Ganjansu- Marh, Bishnah, Miran Sahib, Suchetgarh, Vijaypur, Ramgarh, Samba and Kathua area has been getting damaged. There is no body to lift the same. They can not sell the same outside as there is ban on it. A heavy penalty was imposed on about a dozen trucks by the State Sales Tax authorities at Lakhanpur and Kote Punnu Toll Posts, when the farmers from RS Pura tried to take the trucks to Punjab for selling their crop. No market is being provided to Jammu farmers to sell their Basmati. They are suffering huge losses. No body bothers here. American and European apple plants were provided to Kashmir fruit growers only and in Jammu areas like Bhaderwah, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban-Banihal, Poonch etc there is no such assistance to the Jammu apple growers/farmers. He said even in tourism sector also, entire funding is being provided to Kashmir since long. In jobs also, Jammu youth are getting just peanuts share.
Ch Lal Singh further reiterated his strong demand of handing over Rassana case of district Kathua, to the CBI for providing justice to the victim family.
Replying to a question on attempt of PDP-NC and Congress to form of Govt in J&K and dissolution of Assembly, Lal Singh said they were not in position to form Govt. They only made mockery of the system and played joke with the people of J&K. They were not serious in their move. He, however, endorsed the Governor’s move and told it as step in right direction. He claimed that DSS will fight for justice to the Dogras in every field and appealed the people of Jammu region to get united to wage a decisive battle against injustice.
