Lal Singh inaugurates 3-day MODI fest

UDHAMPUR: Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology,  Choudhary Lal Singh today inaugurated  three day ‘Making of Developed India Festival’ (MODI Fest) being organised by National Film Development Corporation at Mini Stadium, Udhampur.

Director, Environment and Remote Sensing, O. P Sharma, Chief Conservator of Forests, Farooq Gillani, Conservator of Forests East Circle Jammu, Naveen Shah, Conservator SFRI, Harmohinder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa,  CF West Circle and Joint Director  Forest Protection Force Khwaja Qamardin, DFOs, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. K.C. Dogra and officers from different departments were present on the occasion.

The fest is being organized to spread awareness about various welfare schemes and initiatives of union government.

The Minister while highlighting the important schemes of the Government, said that the present dispensation is fully committed towards development of rural and remote areas .The Minister said that such awareness programmes help  in creating awareness about the various welfare schemes among the rural populace.

Many Exhibition & Information booths have also been installed  on the occasion. Besides programmes like ‘Jan Ki Baat’, Film shows, Cultural Programmes highlighting various Govt. schemes like Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yogna, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Jan Dhan Yojna, Atal Pension Yojna, Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojna,  PM Ujjwala Yojna, Digital India and some other schemes were also organised for generating awareness  among the masses.

Similarly, Lucky draws, Quiz competitions, Guidance sessions besides some other activities would also be organized during the three days long grand festival.

Later, the Minister also held a public meeting to take stock of the grievances of the people. He assured early redressal of the same.
