Lal Singh inaugurates Youth Festival

UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: Member Parliament, Chaudhary Lal Singh inaugurated two Day Youth Festival being organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Udhampur in collaboration with District Administration at New Community Hall Udhampur here today.
Speaking on the occasion,  Mr Singh said that youth festivals provide conducive environment  to the youth to share their thoughts. He appealed the participants to take part in the activities and programmes which promote culture and strengthen communal harmony.
While appreciating the organizers of the programme, Singh said that such programmes would help to promote and explore the talent of the youth and also to preserve the culture and traditions of the country. On the occasion, Member Parliament  recalled   teachings of Swami Vivekananda and asked the youth to follow the foot prints of Swami ji and imbibe his teachings  for bringing  peace and prosperity in the State.
He exhorted upon the youth in general and women folk in particular to get acquaint of the legal rights enshrined in the constitution for them.  He said that quality education based on moral values is important to keep the society evil free.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Udhampur organized various activities such as Yuva Kriti, Symposium, Cultural Programme, Dogri Folk Culture, Play and Skits during the festival.
Prizes and mementos were given to the participants of the programme by the chief guest.
Later, Sports kits were also distributed among various Clubs and Mahila Mandals of the district.
Among others, Zonal Director NYK, Jammu, Nabin Kumar Naik, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, S. S Samyal, Deputy Director Employment, Sandesh Kumar, District Youth Coordinator, Udhampur, Syed Sajjad, District Youth Coordinator, Jammu and large number of young folks were present on the occasion.
