JAMMU, Nov 29: A delegation of Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan led by its founder president Ch Lal Singh along with ex-MLA Kanta Andotra called on Governor Satya Pal Malik today at Raj Bhawan along with the Central Executive body of the Sangathan.
The meeting lasted for more than an hour in which various issues for which DSS is fighting, were raised besides the demand of CBI enquiry in the infamous Rassana case and declaration of holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.
Ch Lal Singh made power point presentation of the public outrage which Rassana case caused in Jammu Province and how the investigation was mishandled by the then Home Ministry retained by then CM Mehbooba Mufti in which a particular community was defamed and an attempt was made to create a wedge between two communities on behalf of separatists.
While presenting a memorandum, Lal Singh (ex-MP) apprised the Governor that Jammu has always been discriminated and faced apathy by the successive Governments both at the State and the Central level. He also explained to the Governor that it was a deep rooted conspiracy to divide the people of Jammu on communal lines by mishandling the investigation of Rassana case which is evident from the fact that the investigation teams were changed three times only on behalf of the separatists .
Lal Singh also highlighted the issues confronted by the refugees of PoK and demanded 6 seats for them in proportion to its population living in Jammu and asked for the permanent settlement of border residents in the multiple storied buildings. The demand of separate Public Service Commission and SSRB for Jammu region was also raised in the meeting.
The Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that all the issues with in his domain shall be settled and expressed his satisfaction on the peaceful way of agitation of the people of Jammu despite provocations.
Earlier, general secretary, Dr Hari Dutt Shishu introduced all the members of the delegation. Inderjeet Khajuria, Yashpaul Gupta, Ajay Jamwal, KD Singh, Kuljeet Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Bhupinder Singh, Col JP Singh, BS Jamwal, KP Singh, Basant Saini, Kanchan Singh, Prem Choudhary, Vikas Dutt and others also accompanied.
