Lalchowk traders protest for rehabilitation

SRINAGAR, Mar 19: Flood-hit traders in Lalchowk today protested against the Government for delaying relief and rehabilitation.
Over a dozen traders of Lalchowk area first held a protest march on the Residency Road at noon and later raised slogans for rehabilitation.
The agitating traders said their trading commodities were devastated in the last year’s floods, but their relief and rehabilitation was not done by Government yet.
“The NC-Congress Government blamed the Government for delaying our relief and rehabilitation. The present PDP-BJP Government is also delaying it even after making lofty promises during the Assembly elections,” the traders said.
They said that the Government should expedite rehabiltaion, else it will also meet the same fate soon like its predecessor.
The traders also warned of longer protests if their demand is not fulfilled.
