JAMMU, May 25: Lalit Mahajan was re-elected as president while Tarun Singla as senior vice president of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) today.
The election of BBIA for the term 2019-21 was held today at BBIA Bhawan under the Election Commissioners- Sudhir Kumar, Taranjit Singh Sahni, Ram Langer, SS Wazir and Vinod Jamwal. A total 210 votes were polled out of 232 eligible voters.
Lalit Mahajan, sitting president was re-elected as president for the third consecutive term of two more years. He scored 189 votes and defeated Rakesh Bhat who scored just 18 votes. 3 votes were found invalid. Tarun Singla was elected as new senior vice president and scored 170 votes. He defeated Parvinder Singh Jaggi, who scored 32 votes, whereas, 8 votes were found invalid.
It may be recalled that four office bearers including general secretary and vice president have already been elected unopposed. They are Ajay Langer – vice president, Viraaj Malhotra- general secretary, Rajesh Jain – secretary and Vivek Singhal – treasurer. Mahajan extended gratitude to the members of the Association for reposing their faith on him.
