Lalu acquitted in defamation case

PATNA, Dec 2: A special court for disposal of cases against MPs and MLAs, on Saturday acquitted RJD supremo Lalu Prasad in a defamation case.

Special  Court judge Sarika Bahalia acquitted Yadav in defamation case due to  lack of evidence.  The case was filed against Yadav by one Uday Kant  Mishra who had alleged that he was dubbed  as patron of Srijan scam by the accused in 2017 which defamed him in the society.

Mishra  had lodged a defamation case against Yadav in 2017, which was referred  to special court for disposal of cases against MPs and MLAs. The court  had issued instructions to Mishra on several occasions but he did not  appear for giving his statement. A compromise sheet was also filed in  the case. At last the court acquitted Yadav due to lack of evidence  against him. (UNI)
