Lalu’s political career to remain unaffected – Rabri

PATNA, Oct 22: Mrs Rabri Devi, former Bihar Chief Minister and wife of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, today said that the political career of her husband will remain unaffected even after his disqualification from the Lok Sabha following his conviction in the fodder scam case.
Mrs Rabri Devi told a section of the media that despite adverse situation Mr Prasad would emerge stronger and added that only the membership of his Lok Sabha had been cancelled. She said the political influence of Mr Prasad continues and was growing day by day. She maintained that she had full faith in the Supreme Court which would acquit the RJD leader in the fodder scam.
After acquittal, Mr Prasad would again contest and win the elections with thumping majority, she claimed.
Mr Prasad was disqualified from the Lok Sabha during the day following his conviction in the multi crore rupee fodder scam.
After his conviction on September 30, 2013 in one of the cases of the fodder scam he was awarded five years’ rigorous imprisonment and is currently lodged in the Birsa Munda prison in Ranchi.
