Land acquisition compensation settled at public camp

SAMBA, July 9: An amount of Rs 3.5 crore as land acquisition compensation to 86 individuals was settled in a camp organised at Rakh Amb Tali Samba.
The land has been acquired for industrial area phase -III. A team of revenue officers led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pawan Kumar Sharma supervised the whole exercise. On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda, Tehsildar HQ Saqib Saleem and beneficiaries were also present.
The beneficiary names were publicly called and their land acquired and compensation being given was announced.The Form 34 of the beneficiaries will be directly sent to District Treasury Office Samba where they were directed to approach after 5 working days along with their bank pass books so that on line payment could be made to their accounts.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Samba highlighted the importance of the exercise as it promotes transparency and   minimises various levels involved in fund flow thereby reducing delay in payment and resulting in accurate targeting of the beneficiary. The beneficiaries also highlighted issues faced by them and sought clarifications from the revenue officials.
