Land dispute leads to murder of villager

POONCH, July 4: A villager was murdered during a bloody group clash in Hari Marhote area of Surankote in district Poonch today.
A police spokesman identified the deceased as Mohd Akbar, son of Noor Mohammed, resident of Nadyali, in Hari Marhote area of tehsil Surankote. He received serious head injuries and stab wounds and succumbed to injuries while being shifted to Surankote hospital.
SDPO Surankote, Asgar Ali Malik said that over an old land dispute between two brothers, family members of both the sides had bloody clash. Both the sides freely exchanged lathis, stones and sharp edged weapons.
Mohd Akbar (60), son of Noor Mohammed, resident of Nadyali sustained serious injuries and succumbed to injuries while being shifted to hospital at Surankote. The police said that four members including Nissar Ahmed, his brother and two women of the other family have been arrested while some others have gone underground. The body was sent for postmortem and later handed over to the family for last rites. The police has registered a case in this connection.
