JAMMU, Oct 25: Authorities in district Samba today removed encroachment from the State land measuring 28 Kanals 7 Marlas at village Bara along Jammu-Pathankot the National Highway.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba Mubarak Singh said the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sonu Pargal and Tehsildar, Vijaypur with the assistance of police evicted the encroacher from State Land at village Bara, which was prime location having market value running into several crores.
The land had been encroached upon by one Arun Kumar Sharma.
The boundary wall and plinth raised on the State land was dismantled and a sign board of State land was affixed there by the district administration.
SSP Samba Anil Magotra had deputed a strong contingent of police personnel headed by SDPO Vijaypur SS Samyal to assist the team lead by SDM Vijaypur.
The SDM Vijaypur stated that drive for removing the encroachments in the vicinity and other areas shall continue and similar encroachments also be removed and restored to the State.
The revenue officers have also been directed to keep a strict watch to prevent the encroachment of State Land.
