JAMMU, Jan 25: Secretary J&K BJP, Rekha Mahajan has said that 15 per cent reservation to women in non-gazetted posts in J&K Police is one more step of the UT Government towards further strengthening women empowerment in the Union Territory.
In a handout Mahajan said that it also indicates the concern of the Government for socio-economic upliftment of the women.
She said that giving reservation to women will not only provide them job opportunity but will also help them to be self reliant to lead a dignified social life.
“Their services in police department will be a big help in matters related to crime cases against women as the affected ones would be in a comfort position to discuss and share their problems and grievances with women personnel,” she maintained.
The BJP leader further said that women are no less in intelligence, capability and capacity and can do better in any field.
She expressed confidence that entry of a large number of women in J&K Police after implementation of 15 per cent reservation will also inspire more and more daughters of the soil to take benefit and get absorbed in non-gazetted posts in JKP.
Mahajan also congratulated daughter of the soil, Arushi Kotwal for being conferred with the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2022 by PM Narendra Modi for her exceptional achievements in the field of sports.
