Landmark initiatives taken by Govt: Malik

JAMMU, Feb 11: The discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the Governor’s address began in the Legislative Assembly today.
The Motion was moved by Abdul Gani Malik and seconded by Mohammad Sharif Naiz.
While initiating the debate on the Motion, Abdul Gani Malik expressed gratitude to the Governor for his address. He supported the address and appreciated the steps initiated by the Coalition Government for the welfare and development of the State. He said the present coalition headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has taken several land mark initiatives during the past five years in the State which are aimed to further improve the socio-economic conditions of the masses, especially in the rural and far flung areas.
Describing the decisions of creating administrative units, strengthening of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), introduction of Public Service Guarantee Act, Right to Information and Vigilance Commission as landmark initiatives of the present dispensation, Mr. Malik said that these decisions will go a long way in bringing transparency and accountability in the administration. He lauded the performance of the Government during the past five years.
The discussions would continue tomorrow.
