What is luxury? Luxury is to be on the top of the world. It is the pleasure of being able to do anything and buy anything at any given time without having to worry about money issues. But what leads to luxurious life- hard work or short cuts?
“NO PAIN, NO GAIN”- A very common well known proverb, which I am sure everyone had read. But is everyone really following it? Everyone wants what feels good. Everyone wants to live a carefree, happy and easy life, to look perfect, to make money, be popular, well respected. It’s very easy to like it but who has the will power to follow it.
But a very interesting question- what pain do you want in your life? What are you willing to struggle for? Because how our lives turn out- revolves around these questions! Everyone wants to have an amazing job; an amazing physique; their own business. But not everyone wants to suffer through 60 hour work weeks; to appreciate the pain and physical stress that comes with lying inside a gym for hour upon hour; to appreciate the risk, uncertainty, repeated failures, working insane hours on something you have no idea whether it will be successful or not.
What determines your success isn’t ‘ what do you want to enjoy’? The question is- ‘ what pain do you want to sustain’? The quality of one’s life is not determined by the quality of one’s positive experiences but the quality of your negative experiences. Life is full of twists and turns. Everyone has to struggle here in this world to overcome every obstacles in the way of success. For this, hard work is necessary. Without working hard and just by sitting idle it will be hard for one to get success.
Today’s world is a competitive world. Everyone wants to be famous. But no one wants to work hard or struggle in life. Everyone wants to have an i-phone, Mercedes, expensive jewellery, to be socially famous on Facebook and Twitter. But what are people doing for it?
Everyone respects Mr. RAJINIKANTH. He has beautifully explained the crux –
“Whether you have a maruti or a BMW, the road remains the same. Whether you travel economy class or business, your destination doesn’t change. Whether you have a titan or a Rolex , the time is the same. Whether you have Apple, Samsung or Lava, people who call you remains the same. There is nothing wrong in dreaming a luxurious life. What needs to be taken care of is to not let the NEED become GREED. Because needs can always be met, but greed can never be fulfilled.”
People want the reward and not the struggle. They want the result and not the process. They were in love NOT WITH THE FIGHT, but only with THE VICTORY. And, life doesn’t work that way. Who you are is defined by the values you are willing to struggle for. People who enjoy the struggles in gym are the ones who get in good shape. People who enjoy long work sheets and politics of corporate ladder are the ones who move up. This is not a call for willpower or GRIT. It is simple component of life- our struggles determine our successes. So, always choose your struggles wisely.
“SUCCESS IS BORN OF STRUGGLE”
People are lazy to do struggle but are more afraid of failure. Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. Failures are the pillars of success. They provide us an opportunity to realise our shortcomings so that we can constantly strive to improve ourselves. Success is not final and failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts. Those who try to do something and fail are infinitely better than those who try to do nothing and succeed. Success is the problem but failure is the formula. Without knowing the formula, problem can never be solved.
STRUGGLE – FAILURE- SUCCESS all go hand in hand. We just need to fasten our seat- belts to face any sort of thunderstorm that comes our way. Once DETERMINATION is made, LUXURY would always remain intact.
But what everyone considers luxury now-a-days, is actually true? Materialistic happiness is what everyone is wishing for? IS IT TRUE LUXURY?
Luxury is being happy and making others happy; luxury is being healthy and helping others; luxury is peace of mind. With all the materialistic happiness, can true luxury be found? People you have to make a choice!
