BHADERWAH, Mar 12: Giving a much needed relief to the patients living in Additional District Bhaderwah and its adjoining areas, Laparoscopic surgery was restored after a gap of 8 years at SDH Bhaderwah.
Since last eight years, the patients were denied even the commonly done laparoscopic surgeries including gallbladder (cholecystectomy), kidney stone and hysterectomy (removal of uterus) at SDH Bhaderwah reportedly due to some technical fault in the Laparoscopic machines.
Dr Shakeel Ahmed Sumbria immediately after assuming the charge of BMO SDH Bhaderwah set a task force to mend all the out of order machines in order make them usable for the benefit of patients.
Accordingly the fault of Laparoscopic machine which was catching rust since years was rectified and the Laparoscopic surgery of gallbladder (cholecystectomy) was successfully performed of a poor lady belonging to a BPL family of Dhareja Village by the Surgeon Specialist Dr Sajan Bijyal after 8 years.
Family members of the lady who were finding it very difficult to manage the finances for conducting surgery at private hospital or outside Bhaderwah expressed gratitude to the hospital authorities for conducting the surgery free of cost that too at their native place.
“We were running from pillar to post since last 6 months but were unable to arrange the required money (Rs 40,000) for conducting surgery outside Bhaderwah. We grateful to BMO who showed personal interest and got the Laparoscopic machine mended and thereafter surgery was conducted without spending a single penny”, said Haroon brother-in-law of the patient.
Meanwhile, BMO Dr Shakeel Ahmed Sumbria and Surgeon Specialist Dr Sajan Bijyal assured that patients need not to go outside for common laparoscopic surgeries as they at SDH Bhaderwah have got latest technology and facility to conduct safe and smooth surgeries.
