MENDHAR, July 21: The last rites of Shamim Ahmed, a jawan of 10 JAK LI who got martyred on 19th of this month at Drass Sub Sector, were performed with full military honour at his home town here.
His mortal remains were handed over to his next of kin on July 20.
CO Balnoi Battalion along with officers and JCOs were present for the Guard of Honour. Apart from them, Commander KG Sector, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mendhar, Choudhari Mohd Safik, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Mendhar, SL Khan and Sarpanch Aftab Khan were also present.
A large number of local people attended the wreath laying ceremony and paid homage to the soldier who laid down his life for the country.
