KATHUA, Oct 12: The last rites of SSB Jawan, Sujit Kumar Singh of village Uttri near here who laid down his life in an operation against Maoists in Jharkhand yesterday were performed today with full military honours at his native village.
The jawan was given a touching adieu by his villagers and jawans of SSB and police. He was presented a guard of honour. The Commandant SSB, DC Kathua , Ramesh Kumar and other senior civil and police officers besides his friends and relatives participated in his last rites.
However neither any Minister nor any politician including local MLA attended the funeral procession or was present during the last rites of the jawan. The local residents have taken serious note of the same.
