SRINAGAR Aug 26: Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul has emphasized for launching awareness campaign against domestic fire incidents and other safety measures to be adopted by house wives.
The Speaker was interacting with the Management of SMHS hospital, Srinagar during his visit to Burn Unit of the hospital today.
He enquired about the welfare of Mehooba, wife of Ghulam Hassan Ranga resident of Nowakadal who was recently injured due to electric shock. The doctors briefed the Speaker about the health condition of the patient. Mr. Gul directed the Power Development Department (PDD) authorities to process her case for compensation and ensure early release of relief to injured lady.
During his visit, the Speaker also directed the officers of PDD accompanying him, to repair electric fittings besides ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the hospital.
Earlier, the Speaker convened an officers meeting with various departments and took stock of the arrangements made by them for the forth coming Assembly session 2013.
The Speaker directed all the departments to gear up their respective field staff and work in unison and make the ensuing session a grand success.
He directed the Secretary, Public Works Department Tanveer Jan to take immediate steps for face lifting of the Complex of Legislature on war footing basis. He also asked the concerned to ensure cleanliness in and around the complex.
Mr. Gul directed the concerned to start construction work on chain fencing of the park. He also directed the Director Floriculture Kashmir Mishry to install benches in the park besides ensuring decoration in and around the complex. He also asked the Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) to install sign board over the main gate of the complex.
While discussing the facilities available to the Legislators in MLA Hostel Srinagar, the Speaker directed the Secretary Assembly M. Ramzan to nominate two officers from Assembly Secretariat to supervise the process of providing adequate lodging and boarding facilities to the visiting Legislators.
