JAMMU, July 24: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner, Avny Lavasa here today started the face-lifting work of Bhour Camp Cremation Ground in the outskirts of the city.
She was chief guest on the occasion and was accorded warm welcome by Prof. Youdhvir Singh, JMC Councillor along with members of Gurudwara Singh Sabha Bhour and Panches and Sarpanches of various Panchayats.
She was apprised about the renovation project to be carried out by the Municipal Engineering Division IV under the guidance of Executive Engineer, Sunil Sharma.
A handout stated that the project included boundary wall on the side of Landoi Nalla, expansion of cremation shed, and erection of new shed for public seating including stairs for public sitting, floor tile work and construction of bathrooms.
The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs. 36 lakh and was a long pending demand of the public.
JMC Councillor, Prof. Youdhvir Singh also apprised the Commissioner about other problems of the area.
Speaking on the occasion the JMC Commissioner talked about the various developmental works to be carried out in Ward number 73 within a short span of time.
She also promised to fulfill other demands of the locals put forth by the public on this occasion.
Lavasa advised the people to follow COVID -19 protocols in true sense and spirit.
Prof Youdhvir also showed Social Forestry Project to the Commissioner which was made by young boys of Eco-Riders Club a year back.
S. Amarjit Singh (retired SSP), S. Inderjit Singh, S. Balbir Singh, Amrit Bali, S. Hardev Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
