Sir,
Madhya Pradesh which accounts for nearly 10.27 percent of country’s cattle population, had passed anti-cow slaughter law which has stringent provisions to punish those involved in the slaughtering. After this law, people used to abandon their cows and this led to massive increase in cattle on the road which ultimately is more severe than the butchening as they roam on road, eat plastic. Also, the abandoned cows were raiding crops and causing accidents on highways.
A committee by Madhya Pradesh Government has recommended that existing law should be amended to include provisions to penalise owners who abandon their cattle. If it is to prevent atrocities against the cows then it should be entertained and state government should act upon it.
Yours etc….
