SAMBA, July 26: Bari Brahmana police booked wife of a law violator for assaulting a public servant, here.
As per police sources, a joint naka was laid by Bari Brahmana Police Station and Traffic Department cops yesterday and intercepted a scooty being driven by Shiv Charan, aged around 15 years, son of Mukhtyar Singh Charak, a resident of Meen Charak. The rider failed to produce the documents and accordingly the scooty was seized.
“Mukhtyar Singh Charak, a law violator involved in around 4 cases registered with Police Station Bari Brahmana tried to get the scooty released from Police Station by creating various issues including threatening to block the Jammu-Pathankote National Highway”, sources said, as Mukhtyar Singh was mobilizing the mob for blocking the highway, the cops from Bari Brahmana reached the spot and tried to settle the issue.
In the meantime, wife of Mukhtyar Singh Charak namely Rajni Devi assaulted SgCt Rajinder Kumar. The other people and cops present there controlled the situation from further deteriorating.
A case under FIR Number 132/18 under Section 332 and 353 RPC has been registered against Rajni Devi for assaulting a Government employee while performing his duties and further investigation into the case is going on.
