Srinagar, Mar 9: Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) today carried out a demolition drive through its Enforcement Wing in several areas in which, 3 single-storey houses, 1 shed, one plinth and one 2nd storey were demolished.
The Authority said that despite resistance from the public at many places the demolition was carried out successfully.
It said that Enforcement Wing of the LAWDA will continue with demolition of illegal constructions and removal of encroachments.
The LAWDA said that Tippers and Load carrier owners have been directed not to carry and ferry any construction material to the prohibited area of Dal and Nigeen Lake without getting the requisite permission.
“All the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction and in-lake are hereby once again directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions and encroachments,” LAWDA said.
