SRINAGAR, July 18: The enforcement wing of the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) today sealed a structure and demolished six illegally constructed structures around Dal and Nigeen lakes, an official spokesperson said.
He further said the wing carried out demolition drives in the areas of Harwan, Laam, Rainawari, Chowdribagh, Hassibhat and Saderbal.
During the drive, six illegal constructions that include a two-storey, concrete columns of a structure, one room structure with bathroom and roofing of a house raised illegally by violators were demolished on the spot.
Furthermore, in presence of duty Magistrate a three storey residential house raised illegally in the area of Miyan Shah Saheb Rainawari was also sealed by the Enforcement Wing.
However, people of these areas alleged that when these illegal structures were being constructed where were the field employees of the LAWDA enforcement wing. Why these constructions were not stopped at initial stages, they asked.
