Lawlessness in Samba, locals need to help police: ManjitExcelsior

VIJAYPUR, Jan 1: Expressing anguish over increasing criminal activities in Samba, Apni Party (AP) Provincial president Jammu, S. Manjit Singh here today appealed to the District Police to curb the criminal activities that have spread fear psychosis among the people following repeated stabbing incidents in broad-day light in the last few days.
Addressing the monthly meeting of Apni Party at Vijaypur where discussions on increase in crime, unscheduled power cuts and sufferings of farmers were held, Manjit said that the people are deeply concerned about the worsening law and order situation in Samba with abrupt spurt in criminal activities and drug menace.
“The criminals stab people without fearing the law or police,” he maintained appealing SSP Samba and other officials of Police Department to take strict action against the elements who want to destroy the peaceful atmosphere.
The AP leader recalled how brutally a newspaper hawker and another man were stabbed with sharp edged weapons and their body parts were cut without any mercy.
He appealed to the people to help police in checking criminal activities so that the wrong elements can be dealt with iron hands.
Meanwhile, he also referred to the unprecedented unscheduled power cuts that have impacted the water supply system in the district and said that the worst sufferers are the farmers who are unable to run their water pumps to water their fields.
