SRINAGAR, Oct 19: Jammu and Kashmir State Judicial Academy (JKSJA) today organized Oath ceremony for newly enrolled Advocates of Kashmir and Ladakh Provinces at J&K State Judicial Academy complex, Mominabad here.
The oath was administered by Member, J&K State Judicial Academy Governing Committee Justice Sanjeev Kumar, who also distributed absolute enrolment certificates among 123 newly enrolled advocates hailing from different districts of Kashmir province. This was followed by lecture on the “Professional Ethics, Behaviour and Conduct” delivered by Justice Sanjeev Kumar.
Addressing the Advocates, Justice Kumar termed patience and perseverance coupled with courtesy and respect for the courts and fellow colleagues as key towards success for every good lawyer. He stressed upon the advocates to work hard and develop constant urge for updating knowledge of law to achieve higher levels in the legal professions.
Justice Kumar stressed upon the newly enrolled Advocates that character is vital in all professions and all walks of life and same practice should be followed in the legal profession also. He said that observing honesty by the lawyer is a matter of the first importance. It was highlighted that lawyers should conduct in courts with assertion rather than aggression, and build professional capacity and fidelity to trust. In the dealings in and outside the Court, Advocate should always bear in mind that every member of the Bar is a trustee of the honour and prestige of the profession which he is duty bound to uphold in letter and spirit, he said.
Registrar Rules, High Court of J&K Bala Jyoti also participated in the programme. The function concluded with vote of thanks by Rajeev Gupta, Director, J&K State Judicial Academy.
